The Netherlands demonstrates in the field that vaccination against HPAI reduces transmission risk from 96% to 10–30%

A major study just published by Wageningen Bioveterinary Research, evaluating two avian influenza vaccines under commercial conditions — with more than 8,600 serological samples — dispels several reasonable doubts about vaccination against avian influenza: it works, it is safe, it does not compromise egg production, and it does not mask infection when accompanied by DIVA surveillance. Wageningen signs it, AVINED funds it. Is there any remaining reasonable scientific doubt to justify continuing to delay the political decision?
